Make sure you have an adult who can help you with this recipe! It involves chopping and cooking on a stovetop.


 

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of chopped Swiss chard leaves and stems
  • One medium onion
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder)
  • 2tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Pepper to taste

 

Instructions:

  1.  Chop the leaves and stems of the chard
  2. Chop the onion
  3. Add the olive oil to a skillet and turn on stove to medium heat
  4. Saute the onion until it becomes softer and shiny
  5. Add the garlic to the onion and mix well, and then add the chard leaves, salt and pepper
  6. Cover and cook on medium-low heat until the stems are softened to preference, stirring occasionally
  7. Remove from heat, drain any excess water, and serve
  8. Consider topping with some grated or shredded cheese!
